Every image in our collection has a story, so what is the story here?
This image was taken as we traversed Angola in our 1997 Land Rover Defender 300TDi and arrived at Petra's Negras. Sunrise at Pedras Negras was usually dramatic with golden light pouring over the rocks and shadows stretching long across the valleys. But one morning we woke to something different: mist everywhere. It softened the landscape and shifted the colours into a gentle palette. For photography, mist is a gift. It filters the light, creates layers, and frames details that might otherwise be lost in the vastness. Suddenly every corner looked cinematic. Some mornings give you the sunrise you expect. Others hand you pure magic.
